CRITTERS - Kyle Roberts of Silverton, Colo., arranges the pottery critters in his display at the Walnut Valley Festival. Besides the popular mountain people, musicians and other characters, Roberts is selling other pottery such as dishes. (Jane Sandbulte/Courier)

People soaking up the sights and sounds of the Walnut Valley Festival can take a break from the music to wander the crafts.

Approximately 100 booths are spilling over with bright tie-dye garments, hats of many descriptions, pottery, paintings, jewelry, wooden toys, stained glass, candles and other crafts.

Mixed in with them are about 20 luthiers selling music instruments and related items. Then there are booths full of puppets and other things for kids.

And don't forget to look through the selection of festival T-shirts and sweat shirts.

New this year is a small section of foods and spices, including sand hill plum jelly, hot sauces and spices.

Hours for crafts today are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For a complete story, see the Spotlight.
