About Walnut River String Band …
The Walnut River String Band is a group of local musicians (living in or near Winfield year 'round) who perform occasionally and enjoy making music. When everyone's there, the band consists of:
  • Ned Graham, vocal & guitar
  • Rex Flottman, vocal & guitar
  • Gaye Young, hammered dulcimer
  • Dennis Young, string bass
  • Jerry O'Neal, autoharp, accordion, & penny whistle
  • Jerry Norton, mandolin
  • Cindy Venn, vocal & Percussion
By the end of 2002 they will have finished their second CD, and will have played over 40 gigs - including Sat. night of the festival on Stage V just prior to their record crowd for Tommy E. They say, “That was a blast!” They also played on Stage One Sunday on 3 songs with the Walnut Valley Men's Chorus. The voice you hear is that of Bruce Wells, a medical doctor who practices in Winfield.

They now have a web site at wrstringband.com
