T.A.M. Program

During the school year, The Special Consensus offers an informative school presentation which introduces grammar school, junior high school and high school students to bluegrass music. The Traditional American Music (T.A.M.) Program includes performance of the music interspersed with an explanation of how this form of music originated, of how each instrument used in the band is constructed and played and its role in a bluegrass band, and of how songs are written and sung (including an explanation of harmony singing). These presentations are also available for college level classes and workshops.
