Santa Fé Trails Bluegrass Festival A bigger generator
Around 9 a.m. Saturday, a couple of power failures in the campground demonstrated the need for more generating power. Fortunately, the Bluegrass Electric Company (a.k.a. The National Guard) was able to bring in a bigger generator that was up to the task. The generators were a mixed blessing. Some of us (myself included) have a medical need for electricity and it also helps to keep the food cool on a hot day. On the other hand, the sound of the generators is not compatible with our type of music acoustic. Festival organizers are well aware that regular power would be the solution. However, that costs money. Both the Festival and our hosts, the National Agricultural Hall of Fame, operate on rather tight budgets. A better power system for the campground is planned for the future when the budget allows. |
