Santa Fé Trails Bluegrass Festival May 18-20, 2001
Leo Eilts
During the break between the two sets by Bluegrass Sessions, a benefit auction was held. The chief auctioneer was Leo Eilts. When not auctioneering, Leo also serves as the chief organizer for this festival. At Winfield, he hosts the round-the-clock jams at Stage Six. He also plays bass for a couple of bands: the bluerock band Spontaneous Combustion and Kansas City's premiere Hawaiian band, Hula Girl. During the Christmas season, he and his friends do their Cowboy Christmas show at several churches.
When not hosting and/or making music, Leo works at Work Station Support, a sound equipment firm. A few times a year, he heads out to the family farm in Rush County, Kansas to do some farm chores. Other than that, Leo's just about the laziest guy you'll ever meet.
