In 2002, as another vehicle to promote bluegrass among the younger generation, O.I.B.F. invited O.U. and O.S.U. to compete for a traveling trophy. To insure impartiality, the judges are drawn from the international bands performing at the festival. As in the first year, the team from Stillwater defeated the team from Norman.
