The Dictionary of Newfoundland English defines a time as:

"A party or celebration, esp a communal gathering with dancing, entertainment, etc;".
When St. John's was named a Cultural Capital of Canada and awarded a grant to promote arts activites, the city chose to call the period from late July to early August "A St. John's Time". We had already discovered that period and had already made our reservations to enjoy St. John's at that time of the year. This web site is a photo album showing much of what we enjoyed during a two-week vacation in The City of Legends.
