Photos from July 25, 2003Portugal CoveCruise on the ScademiaThe Scademia is a schooner that sails from St. John's.It's an excellent way to see the harbour, the Narrows, and whales. A few weeks earlier, we'd have seen icebergs. Signal HillSignal Hill provides an excellent view of St. John's.It's close enough to the city for frequent visits. We went back on August 4 and August 6. Bowring ParkThat evening we went to take in a fine performance of Othellopart of the Shakespeare by the Sea Festival. We also took in some of the beauty of Bowring Park. Newman Wine VaultsWe then went to the Newman Wine Vaults where the Shakespeare by the Sea Festivalperformed a dramatization of Poe's Cask of Amontillado. There couldn't be a more appropriate location.
