A few years ago, when I started building my personal web site, I mentioned on the site that I had attended Kearny High School in Kearny, New Jersey. Due to the power of search engines, several fellow alumni found me. Since I couldn't find any other such on-line directory, I built one and included it on my personal site. At that time, I did not know that there was another Kearny High School (although I knew of some Kearney High Schools).

Since building that site, I've had requests for additions that were from people that didn't seem to go to the same high school I went to. That's how I learned about Stephen Watts Kearny High School in San Diego. (The one in New Jersey is named for the town, which, in turn, is named for another General Kearny — Gen. Phil Kearny.)

Recently, when a new listing is volunteered, I've learned to ask which school. Those from New Jersey were added to my site. Those from San Diego were politely told that this was the wrong school. Now, I've decided to handle it differently — I've simply built another page for the graduates of the California school.

It is my hope one day that one of you will build a personal web site and transfer this page there. Meanwhile, we'll continue maintaining this site for you.
