For years, I've had wonderful service from a local film processor. Following this year's festival, I confidently dropped off five rolls of film. This time, almost all of the shots were well-composed, in-focus, from the right angle, etc.

A few hours later, I returned to find a rather sad-faced woman. She explained that there had been a problem in their first batch of developing chemicals that morning. As a result, all of the photos had been ruined. She nevertheless made prints of each which she simply gave me. Seeing the prints, I had to agree that they had all been ruined.

However, I had led some people to believe that I would post a photo album again this year. Therefore, I took about half of the photos, scanned them, and did the best I could to adjust them to the point that they were at least recognizable. In fact, those (unlike me) who are into surrealism, may even find them interesting this way.
