Rawlins Cross performs in Salina, Kansas

In June, 1998, Rawlins Cross performed at the Smoky Hill River Festival in Salina, Kansas.

I'm sorry that I wasn't armed with my usual photographic equipment for this occasion, so the only photos are a few that we took with a rather poor digital camera. However, they're coming back to Kansas in June of 1999 for two consecutive weekends — one in Arkansas City and then a return visit to the Smoky Hill River Festival in Salina. I'm planning to be there (with a good camera this time) and I'd strongly suggest that you want to be there, too. Meanwhile, pay a visit to their new website.

On Sunday, Ian introduced me and dedicated a song to me, saying that they thought they'd be totally unknown coming to Kansas. However, thanks to CKUA, I was quite familiar with the group and was introduced as their first Kansas fan. In doing so, he mentioned both CKUA and Andy Donnelly. A local reporter wrote this story.
