Wayne and Millie Lauritsen are a genuine, Kansas farm couple, descendents of Thomas County pioneers. They've raised good crops and a wonderful family on their farm on the Sappa Creek just west of what used to be the town of Cumberland, KS.
The husband and wife duo are as authentic as their costumes (many of which Millie makes herself), with a hospitality unique to original northwest Kansas folks, that touches listeners though their pure music and gentle manner.
We're honored to have them on the Pickin' on the Plains Committee--and proud of the following of dedicated fans from Kansas, Colorado and Nebraska who come to listen to them each year.
We're sure you'll appreciate their repertoire of ballads, country and western and gospel songs that started as a mere hobby and has grown quite professional over the past decade.
