Nelson Kelly was an active member of the First Baptist Church that sponsored our troop and I always think of him as being a member of the Troop Committee. I THINK, but I'm not positive, that he was the Chairman of the Troop Committee at the time this picture was taken.
In recent years, I've heard his name often from my parents. While many of their old friends have passed away or moved away, the Kelly family and mine have remained in Kearny and their friendship seems to have grown over the years. Their friendship is clearly an outgrowth of the years of Troop One.
