Anniversary of First Missouri Newspaper
Thespian Hall Main and Vine Boonville, MO For info, call 573-449-4167 For info, write dcrews@socket.net To commemorate the 200th anniversary of the first Missouri newspaper, the Missouri Press Association, in collaboration with The State Historical Society of Missouri, will present "The Editor is Absent: Tribulation & Triumph in Missouri's Pioneer Press," MoHiP Theater (Missouri History in Performance Theater) will perform the play, written by Boonville playwright Mary Barile, which is drawn from actual Missouri newspapers published between 1808 and 1858. Dave and Cathy will begin the activities at 7 p.m. and perform vocals and instrumentals of the period throughout the production. |
