Bell and Veatrice

Oscar Micheaux's mother, Belle Micheaux, and his sister, Veatrice, are buried at the white marble tombstone about 45 feet southeast of Oscar's grave at the Great Bend Cemetery.

Veatrice was murdered on May 11, 1915 in Pueblo, Colorado by a jealous suitor while she was on a date with another man. She was in Pueblo, staying with her sister, Ida. She died on May 18, 1915.
